The department of Economics is one of the oldest departments established in the year 1971 with the establishment of the college. Late Mr. I. P. Upadhyaya was the first Professor and Head who governed the department up to 2007 . Since them there are two lecturers managing the whole affair or department. At present Dr. S. C. Tiwari is the head of department. The department is running U.G. and P.G. Classes. A good Number of students are admitted every year in the classes. The central library of college has sufficient number of book and reference book for the student of UG and P.G. Level. Because of its good collection, the department is recognized as research center by affiliated university, more then 1800 books are available in the library. The department arranges various industrial tour and visit for P.G. students Seminar, Group discussion and debate competition are some reputed activities performed time to time.
